In Loving Memory of Derrick M. Williams
(Chef Beasty)
Derrick M. Williams, affectionately known as Chef Beasty, was born on March 17th, 1986, in Bronx, NY. On September 6th, he gained his eternal rest in Queens, NY.
From an early age, it was clear that Derrick had a gift for creating, sharing, and bringing joy to others. His greatest passion was food—not just as a meal, but as an experience. Known by many as Chef Beasty, he built a reputation for turning ordinary ingredients into extraordinary dishes. His kitchen was his stage, his food was his art, and his joy was in watching people come together to laugh, connect, and celebrate over something he prepared.
Chef Beasty’s love for life extended far beyond cooking. He loved to travel, meet new people, and embrace every opportunity for adventure. He had a way of lighting up a room—whether with his booming laugh, his unforgettable stories, or the warmth of his presence. If there was music, he would dance. If there was food, he was making sure everyone had enough to eat and that it tasted good!
He catered not just for events, but for memories. Whether it was for a family dinner, a community gathering, or a private party, his food and energy left a lasting mark. For him, cooking wasn’t just a profession, it was his ministry of love.
Derrick was also a devoted brother, son, uncle and friend. To his family, he was more than a chef. He was the protector, the joker, the one you could always call for advice—or for a good laugh. His family was his foundation, and he never hesitated to show his love.
He is survived by his Father: Derrick M. Brunson, Mother: Veronica Brunson, Sister: Monique R. Williams, & Nephew: Gerald R. Thomas Jr. along with countless extended relatives, friends, and supporters who became family along the way.
Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through the many lives he touched. His recipes, his laughter, and his lessons remind us that life is best lived with courage, joy, and flavor.
“The best meals are the ones we share, and the best lives are the ones lived fully.” – A truth he embodied every day.
Rest well, Chef Beasty. Your legacy will never be forgotten.
