Edwin Atherley was born in Belize City, Belize on March 21, 1959 to Mary and Joseph Atherley. He was the 7th of 10 children. He attended St .John's Elementary School , St. Michael's and then Belize Technical College. He migrated to California in 1981 and then to NYC shortly after that. In his younger years, he spent time working the family farm in Denocracia, picking fruits. The farm supplied the hotels and the main market in Belize City with oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, corn, peanuts and red kidney beans. After working the fields, Edwin enjoyed jumping in the river for a swim. Edwin joined the military in 1982 and completed basic training at Camp Pendelton. He was released on a medical discharge due to a knee injury he acquired years prior. Edwin fathered four amazing children, Edwin Jr., Starleana, Brandon and Snowanda Atherley with his then wife, Rosalia. Edwin spent his time taking care of his family, working hard and serving the lord. Edwin was a radiant genuine soul who radiated happiness to everyone around him. He was quick to give and slow to take. He motivated all of us to live a happy and simple life. Forever and always our loving father. May he rest in peace.
