Mildred affectionately also known as Millie was born August 3 rd , 1939 in Atlantic City, NJ to Emma Lucinda Johnson and She attended Atlantic City public schools. Every Sunday Aunt Ella and Uncle Jay would take her to church.
At the age of fifteen she began working at local hotel as a maid, cleaning hotel rooms.
In 1954 she married Milton Harding. To them was born a baby girl Cheryl Lynn who departed this life at the tender age of 6 months.
Two years later their union was blessed with another daughter Debra, then Simone (Mone) and then James (Tim) long before youngest son Kareem was born.
Living in a small town with 3 Children working as a maid wasn’t paying enough for Mildred, she needed more, so she asked her mother to watch her children, while she went to New York city to look for work.
In New York she took and passed the test for the United States Postal. Every payday like clock work she would send money back home to Atlantic city. She faithfully worked for the post office for 34 years until her retirement.
Mildred loved everyone & greeted all with a warm smile. She loved Reading, Writing- Poems, Drawing, Motown Songs, Playing Cards, Wearing African Garments, & doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all she loved her family
